Twenty-three South Florida startups from Stuart to Miami have been selected as semi-finalists in SUP-X, the StartUp Expo national startup business competition in Fort Lauderdale in March.
The local companies are: Paywithchip, GoGig, RentLit, and Winspire from Fort Lauderdale; Slurpits from Dania Beach; The THX Co. from Hollywood; GoGym from Palm City; Pickk from Pompano Beach; Hutch.ai from Stuart; Jinglz and Carpe Solutions from West Palm Beach; Honorlock and Candidate.Guru from Boca Raton; and Project Ghost Studios, Symptify, UX Gofer, Same Day Pros, People As A Service, Emerge, Bid.Aero, Gramercy.io, Apollonix, and Cargo42 from Miami.
The companies will each receive a free booth at the international conference and will be considered for the finals to compete for $50,000 in cash prizes. Fifty startups from 10 states and 25 cities have been selected to compete including a total of 31 from Florida.
The two-day conference and expo will be held March 6 and 7 at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward Convention Center. The conference is expected to attract about 1,500 people from more than 35 states and a dozen countries, according to Bob Fitts, organizer of SUP-X.
The purpose is to better connect and educate investors, entrepreneurs and service providers from throughout North America.
“We’re excited to have these outstanding startups represent their communities in our startup competition,” Fitts said. “The exchange of ideas, learning opportunities and chance to form relationships make for a great experience for them.”
